Lesley Varas
Teaching Experience: I teach second grade in the extended foreign language program. This is my 4th year as a teacher at KPE. I have a master’s in Urban Education. I am seeking a National Board Certification in English as a New Language. My goal as an educator is to ensure my students success by incorporating different strategies to address each learners need in my lessons.
Special Interest: I enjoy spending time with my husband and my dog, Zoey. Also, I enjoy watching movies and going out to new and exciting places. I hope to travel around the world to continue learning about cultures, languages and people.

I am celebrating my eighth year of teaching at Kensington Park Elementary. Currently, I am pursuing doctoral studies at Nova Southeastern University in Instructional Leadership. I have a son, Jake who is the "love of my life." I am an avid reader, cooks for relaxation, and travels for fun. Teaching and learning are my passion and I look for ward to each day with my students.

Teaching Experience: I 1994 I began working in the Dade Public School System as a teacher assistant. I began working towards my bachelor's degree as well as substituting during that time. I graduated from Nova Southeastern University in 1997. I have been teaching for 5 years. I have taught first, third and fourth grades.
Special Interest: I enjoy traveling to learn about other countries and their cultures. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family.

I have taught Exceptional Education Autistic Pre-K students, Kindergarten, and second grade; ESOL Inclusion and Extended Foreign Language Programs. I have a Master Degree in TESOL and I am National Board Certified in the area of English as a New Language.
Special Interest: when I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family. I read and tend my orchids for relaxation.
